Our community allows for 7 board members. According to the bylaws no less than 3 and up to 7.
Like any election if less than 3 people run we need to talk someone into running at the last minute to have 3. If 5 people run, well that is over 3 and all 5 are elected, because it is less than 7. If 6 people run, all 6 are elected. There is no odd number reference in the bylaws, as I read them.

At a past election there was some confusion, I saw 7 run and only 5 were elected. According to the bylaws all 7 should have been on the board. The reason I mention this is because over the years I keep hearing how everyone is an unpaid volunteer. That is correct and we need to respect these people's time, as they owe you and I nothing, yet are doing us a great favor by donating there time. Let's all remember that and stop complaining on social media. Instead send email to Management company or talk to a neighbor on the board. However, I often hear how busy board members are. With more board members that's better shared time opportunity/distribution to get more accomplished.

Our hired management company will send you a voting/election email to the email address you provided them. They will include links to bios of those running. As we have over 400 homes in our neighborhood bios are a good thing to use. It's one vote per home title holder, a renter cannot vote.

See the Learn more link or use the CCR link above to find all the paperwork that should be public to us and there you will find our Bylaws.
