Expect to find info the board is aware of. Like, repairs in progress and other neighborhood concerns. No need to turn to social media sites as info is posted here 24/7 .
AVOID SOCIAL MEDIA SITES for HOA MATTERS. As an internet expert that started one of the first silicon valley internet services in the 1980s, I can tell you that turning to social media to “complain makes one a self centered whining keyboard warrior”. This not only frowned upon it will alienate you from the the other 417 homes in the community. You will be a minority. The main drawback to social media is that the original poster often has the ability to remove the comments from others. Making it look like their issue is all important as readers do not get to see those comments they don’t agree with. Social media is largely a poster’s dictatorship process. So be aware of this when you read social media. Social media sites like Neighborhood are great to post something for sale. These sites survive off ad revenue and do not care about any issue you have. So the more crap or unverified content on a page that interests or antagonizes people the more page views. Never let anything someone posts bother you. Life is better then.
There are proper more effective ways to go about addressing an issue. Like, annual meetings where everyone is allowed time to speak, contacting the management company or sending a message to a board or committee member.
